First impressions still count. And the last couple of slower paced miles until you finally hear the crunch of the gravel as you pull up at the elegant façade that is Plas Pantyderi Manor add the punctuation mark that leaves the hustle and bustle behind.
Plas Pantyderi Manor is a house with a heart. Croeso is in its historical bones. Three generations of the same family ownership have led to the latest iteration of this grand Grade 2 listed manor under the watchful eye of sisters Anna Raymond, Lisa Jones & Efa Jones. Georgian features have been rediscovered and, once more given centre stage, restored period furniture selected to blend with the new on-trend tones, gorgeous centuries-old sash windows brought back to life, patinated beams and the ancient bread oven uncovered. The modern welsh artwork adds to the sense of place. It’s all very magazine-shoot worthy, just crying out to be filled with friends and laughter.
On the ground floor, there’s a generous living space with banquette seating and a convivial bar, opening out onto the deck with views across the ha-ha to the trout lake. And yes, there’s a piano. With a dining room that seats over twenty you might think you need two kitchens. Yes, there are two kitchens too. One a light and airy contemporary sociable space complete with wine fridge, and the other a working kitchen ideal for use by a private chef. The full-size snooker table in the original billiard room adds that extra sprinkle of luxury.
The house has ten high ceilinged bedrooms across two floors, with five en-suites, two indulgent bathrooms and a mix of bed configurations, sleeping up to 21. All have been refurbished in soothing natural shades, polished parquet flooring, metro tiles, antique furnishings all complete the stylish look. Perfect for celebrations and even better for finally getting the extended family together.
Close to trendy Aberteifi, Cardigan, if you must, it is easy to pick up supplies from the supermarket, but the independent delis, bakeries, boutique shops, and fantastic artisan eateries dotted all over this chic market town are not to be missed. A great place to hunt out some local produce and while away a few happy hours.
Quietly settled close to the borders of the three counties of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, and Pembrokeshire, and surrounded by the Preseli hills, the insta famous beaches and breath-taking coast path of the National Park are in easy reach.
