The estate has a long and colourful history, with its story beginning in the 1400s. After passing through several less careful custodians, a major restoration began in 2013 which brought the mansion, coach house, outbuildings, walled garden and surrounding fifty acres back to life. Today the estate blends beautiful heritage features with contemporary luxury finishes, creating a wonderfully private place to escape to.

Together the three converted properties can accommodate up to twenty-four guests while still offering privacy for smaller groups. The Courtyard is the estate’s showstopper property, sleeping ten guests across five elegant en-suite bedrooms. The Coach House comfortably sleeps a further ten with three bathrooms and generous living spaces. The Apartment offers a cosy retreat for two, perfect for couples looking for a peaceful stay.

We adored the understatedly named Courtyard. A striking kitchen island sits at the heart of the high-end kitchen, flowing through the double-height dining space into a cosy living area. Along one side, 23 metres of generous bifold doors open onto the terrace and private garden, creating a wonderful indoor-outdoor space that forms the heart of this convivial property. A double-sided wood burner adds warmth and atmosphere. Just off the patio there is a covered games room with table tennis, darts, seating and an additional fridge.

The Coach House feels light and airy, centred around a spacious dining kitchen, while the expansive Master Suite takes things to another level with its vaulted ceiling and stunning bathroom complete with a deep soaking tub. There is even a table tennis area to enjoy while the champagne chills.

The Apartment is thoughtfully furnished with soft linens and plush Egyptian cotton towels, creating a stylish yet relaxed self-catering space. The open-plan layout includes a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable sleeping area and a sleek ensuite bathroom. A wood burner with a supply of seasoned logs adds a cosy touch, while the private sunny terrace with outdoor seating and a Weber BBQ is perfect for morning coffee or relaxed evening drinks.

Across the estate, each property combines modern furnishings with carefully preserved original features including oak doors, ancient slate flooring with underfloor heating, patinated beams, ornate architraves and impressive high ceilings.

Glaneirw Mansion and The Coach House are surrounded by fifty acres of pastureland and long-established woodland. Keep an eye out for the Pedigree Dexter beef cattle and the rare breed Mangalitsa pigs which forage on apples and pears from the estate orchard. Glaneirw also produces an array of fruit grown both in the orchard and the Georgian walled garden. Keen cooks can transform food miles into food yards when whipping up a feast on the Rangemaster using delicious estate produce.

Cardigan Bay’s weathered coastline is home to countless hidden coves, sandy beaches, welcoming pubs and exhilarating coastal walks. Try Cwmtydu, just south of New Quay, which is great for surfing and often offers a quieter spot for dolphin and seal watching. The postcard-perfect beach at Mwnt is also well worth the steps and the scenic walk.
